I first found KidChess the summer of 2010 when my oldest daughter came to me and said "Daddy, I want to learn how to play REAL chess." Up to that point she and I would play 'chess' where she would move pieces around in no particular order or system and declare herself the winner by physically knocking my king to the floor.
I searched "Chess Lessons for Kids" and was blown away with the quality of the cartoons and education I found at KidChess. It surprised me to find that the full set of videos was not available for sale but only available to the students in the Atlanta area enrolled in a KidChess after school program.
After contacting Justin at KidChess I am now not only buidling a site to deliver their great videos to anyone interested in purchasing them but I am now working with him to produce a new line of great animated lessons.
The KidChess Playround will be the premiere place for kids to learn how to play chess, to improve their game and to have fun around the world!
Be sure to check out the Kid Chess Playground facebook page and Twitter feed. We will be launching in March!
